Hybrid Design

Main task: Achieve the optimal design subjected to more than one objective function (target) and one or more design constraints.
Main application:

  • Dielectric design of electrical apparatus
  • Magnetic design

Example (Dielectric design):
Find the optimal design of the circuit breaker assembly consisting of the two or more components whereby:

  1. The maximal field on the component A (spacer insulator) should be less than some prescribed value,
  2. The field on the component B (HV electrode) should be minimized.
